I am a retired physician who enjoys travel, woodworking, music, and photography. I am blessed to have been married to my wife Irmgard for 52 years and to share the love of our children and grandchildren. I hope you will enjoy this trip on the Rhine when we celebrated the 25th wedding anniversary of our oldest son Peter and his wife Helga.
The Rhine River waters originate in Switzerland from the Rheinwaldhorn Glacier, and at Basel gathers flow and volume on its way to Lake Constance. Its waters flow North through or border the countries of Switzerland, the Principality of Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, France, and the Netherlands and empties into the North Sea. The river is a major commercial tributary, much more so than the Danube River. Our cruise from Basel to Amsterdam was 315 miles of family together time. We were fortunate to have three couples join us for this trip.
